Vision Statement:
The Philadelphia Urban Creators (PUC) are a group of young people who are building relationships with Philadelphia communities in order to develop our neighborhoods sustainably, and equitably, from the ground up.
Action Statement:
Through community organizing, service-learning, artistic expression, and urban agriculture, we seek to unite, as well as educate, energize, and empower Philadelphia youth, ex-offenders, and communities with the skills, resources, networks, and analysis to become passionate leaders in the movement to transform blighted urban landscapes into models of community-based, social and environmental sustainability.
We are, first and foremost, a youth-led organization. The overall vision that we are striving to create, however, is in no way exclusive to young people. Therefore, we focus on using our young energy and ambition in coalition with our adult partners and the residents of the communities that we are active in, so that we can collectively create local solutions to the global problems that are facing us all.
Business Model Statement:
PUC’s initiatives are funded through a combination of grass-roots fundraising, grant writing, and earned income generated from educational and landscaping contracts and the distribution of our products.
